Meet the Coaches

Our coaching staff is made up of talented, winning coaches with long histories in the world of youth football. 
Three of our coaches are former NFL'ers!   In 2017, our Jr. Pee Wees won the LA County Super Bowl and
the North Division Championship.  Our Mighty Mites went undefeated, were Super Bowl finalists and won the
North Division Championships.  Our Tiny Mites finished in 2nd place.

JV (13 & 14 year olds) Jon Nekovar - Head coach 

2017 Jr. Pee Wee Superbowl Champions. Coach Nekovar was a two-way starter WR/DB at Agoura High and was awarded All-Marmonte League, Chargers Player of the Game Awards, Agoura High Football Coaches Award, Bill Belcher Memorial Award, and Steve Capretta Award embracing the Best in Human Spirit. He has coached and assistant coached youth football for the last 7 years including an undefeated season in 2014. 

JUNIOR (11 & 13 year olds) Fred Lewis - Head coach 

Fred has had a 34 year coaching career, including 8 as a High School Head Coach.  He was a founder of the Santa Clarita Vikings and as a youth coach has won 4 L.A. County Championships in the past 6 seasons, 4 at different divisions (Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Varsity and Varsity).  He's the current Middle School Head Coach at Oaks Christian.

SOPHMORE (10 & 12 year olds): Matt Battaglia - Head Coach -
Former All-American (Univ. of Louisville) and NFL'er middle linebacker (Philiadelphia Eagles)

Head Coach  2017 Undefeated Mighty Mites & were Super Bowl finalist, 2016 Head Coach Mighty Mites (finished 3rd out of 18 teams), 2015 Head Coach Tiny Mites (finished #1 in LA County Pop Warner).  Head coaching record is 23-3 in last 3 years (regular season) and 23-5 overall.  Matt played for the University of Louisville, where he became an All-American and All-South middle linebacker, leading the nation in tackles both his junior and senior seasons with 153 and 166 tackles respectively. He averaged 15 tackles per game - 24 games in a row! He broke the Louisville tackling record formerly held by NFL great Otis Wilson (All-Pro w/ Chicago Bears) & was voted team captain and MVP.  He was named to the All-time University of Louisville team, with such football greats as Johnny Unitas, Mark Clayton, Tom Jackson, Deion Branch, Joe Jacoby, Dwayne Woodruff and Frank Minnifield. Battaglia went on to play with the Philadelphia Eagles.
